DENIM? CHECK.

We’ve been hitting the denim hard. Every day – we can’t help ourselves – we go to our wardrobes and there it is, calling to us with its siren song. ‘Wear me’ it says, and we do. All the time. Even when we sleep… Would denim bed sheets be taking it a shade too far?

There are so many styles dropping in for the new season, with organic men’s cuts and flamboyant girl’s washes – think Nudie and Levi’s, BDG and Cheap Monday, landing on the site ready to be snapped up and crammed into walk-in wardrobes (we wish). It’s too difficult to choose whether we want grungy rips or smart turn-ups, indigo dye or acid wash; whether we’re ankle grazing or touching the floor – so we’re just going to get one of everything and feel smug in our total deniminity (what? It’s a word…). Check out our feature for the ultimate guide to jeans-wearing right now.

We bring our addiction into the office with at least a million pieces of denim being worn at any given time. A quick sweep of the floor showed that the Urban workforce are rocking a relaxed vibe, with frays and tears moving in on the Western front and a cloud of retro waistcoats and upturned collars pushing in from the East. A smattering of little white details and neat turn-backs give a nod to the 50s and 60s. How will you wear your denim this season? Are you all for the smarts or more for the shaggy? And no, we don’t mean Mr Lover Lover.

Because we’re Urban and because we have too much time on our hands, all this talk of the cotton twill we know as denim got us thinking about other kinds of jeans. Jean from Eastenders, for example, or Gene Kelly, Jean Claude van Damme and Jean Luc Picard. So we spent a couple of days on Pinterest, pinning our favourite Jeans and Genes and all the iconic denim we could think of. Now we want to turn the tables on you – do you know some awesome Jeans or Genes? Maybe a friend or relative/loved one/person you met on the bus once and never spoke to again. We want to know them! Tweet us a picture of your Jean/Gene @uoeurope and include #JEANIUOS – we’ll put our favourite snaps on the blog and you’ll make one person very happy!
