I’m living in a shithole now, holding no one’s hand, hoping for something to take of this land” – out of context, the lyrics of Weaves new single Shithole may feel a tad deep, but throw this into their relentless barrage of upbeat melodies and scuzzy guitars and you’ve got the soundtrack to your twenties – a totally raw and laid-back reflection on wanting a little more from life.

Formed by singer Jasmyn Burke and guitarist Morgan Waters, the Toronto-based band is rising fast with their experimental soul-packed noise. It’s catchy as hell. You’ve been warned.
