London producer and multi-instrumentalist Slime, or Will Archer to some, is bringing some subtlety back to electronic music. About as far from the brash EDM stereotype as you can get, his confessional layered sounds are descended from 3AM spiritual grooves of the late ‘90s, whispered contemplative numbers that make their listener lean in.

Recorded over two years in a windowless rabbit warren of a studio in Hackney, the album was carved down from more than 400 tracks to its current form. The fastidious work shows; this is music that rewards multiple listens, revealing layers that move from the obtuse to the alien to the melodic, a complex delight that incorporates sounds from a universal palette.
