FUTURE NOISE: NOONIEAugust 21, 2015
Just when you started to think you might be getting a bit old for upbeat pop, somebody serves up something so irresistible you end up jumping right back in and not even feeling bad about it.
This summer’s guilty-not-guilty pleasure is served up by Swedish songstress Noonie Bao, who has made her name with songwriting credits for Charlie XCX, Clean Bandit and none other than Carly Rae Jepsen.
Noonie started singing early, the child of hippy parents who chose to get a drum kit for their lounge instead of a sofa. At the age of 16, she dropped out of school and moved to the Swiss Alps, where she lived a life of music driven soul-searching.
She got her musical break working as a cleaner at a recording studio in Paris. There, she recorded her first demos secretly at night and those demos found their way to an A&R at EMI Music Publishing Scandinavia who signed Noonie when she was just 19 years old.
Her fresh single ‘I’m in Love’ could sweeten the sourest of eardrums. Give yours some sugar below.
