WHAT’S ON: SEPTEMBERAugust 28, 2015
It felt like we blinked and the summer was gone. September is only a matter of DAYS away and we bet you’ve been fiercely scribbling down all of the things you have to do and see this month, including an array of temporary pop-ups and exhibitions. Well, fear not. Put the pen down and stop tapping away at your phone, because we’ve done it for you.
Highlights for this month go to Banksy for being brilliant, as always, and creating a hellish dystopia of Disney Land. Major props, even if you do need to trek to Weston-super-Mare to see it. For those looking to get their healthy hats on, check out Fare Healthy with all our favourite culinary connoisseurs, including Hemsley + Hemsley and Deliciously Ella. And for those who are looking to get a little crafty this Autumn, check out the vintage fairs and flea markets in Hackney and Greenwich to revitalise your living rooms, bedrooms and wardrobes alike.
So for everyone who’s feeling a little glum about the onset of September, get stuck into this list and you’ll be like, summer what?
Where dystopian visions of Disneyland and corporate America meet Weston-super-Mare. What’s not to love? We’re more than keen to jump a train to see Banksy’s latest cutting vision of a corrupt society. Judging from the trailer, it’s going to be epic, if not pretty creepy. We’re practically rubbing our hands with glee. Plus, it’s a mere £3 entry although rumour has it the queues are pretty hideous.
August 22nd – September 27th

Hackney Flea Market
Everyone loves a good flea market. There’s something pretty magical about finding new life and value in someone else’s unwanted items. From crockery and fabric samples to old books and vinyl, head down to Hackney Flea Market for a day of treasure hunting, street food and DJs.

August can sometimes feel like a bit of a drag. We’ve had our summer holiday, we’ve drunk all the Pimms that’s possible for one person to drink, and it’s too late in the year to justify any more summer purchases. Instead, we’re looking forward to embracing a bit of a change along with the changing season. It’s time to take on some new challenges. Fare Healthy is a health conscious festival at Borough Market that’s all about celebrating feeling good, living inspired lives and promoting fitness. It’s the perfect time of year to get clued up on nutrition. Expect top-notch speakers including Deliciously Ella, Hemsley + Hemsley, Amelia Freer, Gizzi Erskine and more.

The Candlelight Club is like secret cinema, only without the film screening part. Sip period cocktails from a special menu and listen to the DJ spin all kinds of vintage jams late into the night. The location will be revealed to you via email two days before the event and you may even have to utter a secret password to gain entry.
