Elliott Power’s new single Murmur is brought to you on the backs of many ghosts.

With its paranoid, shuffling beats and whispered vocals, it channels the spirit of late nineties electronica. The same spectres that haunted Tricky, Portishead and Massive Attack linger here, shaped by the times into something new.

Here too, are the wandering presences of London’s unseen hours. Murmur belongs to the alternative universe that appears between the closing of the clubs and the break of dawn, and the shadowy beings that live in it.

So it’s only right that the ghost of the legendary electronic label Mo’ Wax, long missed and remembered, should be called forth from beyond the grave to release his debut single. Give your ears a haunting here.
