Get your party hat on and get set to celebrate the fifth birthday of Red Bull Studios, London. Prepare your ears and eyes for a week-long takeover celebrating all things music and art. Today, we catch up with Kate Moross about getting creative for Red Bull Studios fifth birthday celebrations.
Studio Moross, based in south London is a creative hub producing illustrations, typography, branding, moving image, packaging, the works. Started by Kate four years ago, the nine creatives who now make up Studio Moross are a hub of vibrancy, colour and artistic energy.
“Our work is focused around music first and foremost but we do work with other brands and companies, whether it’s for musical projects or something completely separate such as events or maybe fashion projects. There’s a whole range of stuff we do as a studio that covers live show design, music videos, everything you can imagine.”
Their primary aim is to make music look good. Period. And that’s what they’re here to do as part of Red Bull Studio’s fifth birthday celebrations.
“Myself, MNEK and Kiko Bun and some other guys from my studio will be doing a 24 hour project – while the guys are making some music in the studio, we’ll be generating some visuals next door at the same time. So it’s like a music video and a song coming together simultaneously.”
“We all know of each other but we haven’t worked together before. We all have an appreciation for each other’s work, but it will be the first time we come together to work on a project like this. We’ll be getting to know each other at the same time.”
Studio Moross have been kept pretty busy over the past few years creating incredible design and art direction around music. From tour visuals for One Direction and Disclosure to logos for record labels such as Young Turks and branding for Jessie Ware and Sam Smith, it’s pretty clear Studio Moross continue to raise the creative bar.
“I’ve been working with Red Bull for four years now. I started with Jessie Ware when we art directed her Devotion campaign and Red Bull were supporting Jessie all the way from the beginning. We did a cool project together where we came upwith an interactive billboard that was in East London for Jessie’s album launch – that was a really fun project. I’ve also worked with Disclosure and various other artists the studio supports.”
The track complete with visuals will be completed in 24 hours and presented at Red Bull Studios on 12th November. Follow their progress live on Tumblr here
