The alternative R&B duo, Tidelines is a delicious blend of Destiny’s Child and Burial. There might be an influx of female-led, dreamy alt-pop emerging from London, but Tidelines are holding a place dear to our ears.

Their debut EP Say My Name, released earlier this year is packed full of synth and silky vocals. It’s a warped and dreamy offering, dabbling in futuristic sounds not a world away from the likes of Mount Kimbie and Nosaj Thing.

The duo, made up of Niomi Eve and Kailin hail from London but have grown up on opposite sides of the world – Ireland and Beijing respectively. The physical distance and difference translates to both their name and music: “We both have very different tastes and frequently clash on what sounds good, hence the name Tidelines.”

However different they might be, we love the result of this collaboration.
