Fringe and Frange

Describe your blog…
FRINGE&FRANGE is the exact representation of what I do daily: be a pain in the ass to my friends, talking about the clothes I want to buy, the ones I’m going to buy and the ones I bought. And I also share my DIY. These little things I do to customize my clothes that make a big difference, to me at least.

How did you get started blogging?
Last year, I was doing an internship at ELLE International and I was surrounding by others interns passionate about blogs, like me. Erin, an American trainee in Paris, pushed me a lot to launch FRINGE&FRANGE. She kept telling me “Can you just start a blog? We can’t deal anymore with you explaining to us 37 times a day how you do your fishtail braid, your home-made ombré hair or your studded jacket. Please?”

What’s the best thing about your blogging life?
It might sound a bit cheesy, but what I like the most is to be exposed to so many different things. It can be some very supportive reader comment, some exciting project, meeting people and these doors that open to me. It’s just happiness, I don’t quite understand everything that is happening to me but I try to make the most of it!

What was the inspiration for your DIY?
I dream to own a Schott bomber jacket. But let’s face it, at 800€ the jacket, it’s not going to happen tomorrow and I’m going to be cold this winter. So I kept the idea of shearling for my DIY. It’s quite easy to turn a light jacket into a winter coat, if you add some more fabric at strategic places. And it’s quite affordable too.

Which other Urban products would you wear with the jacket?
Everything from Urban Outfitters!

Which trends will you adopt this season?
Camo, head to toe black (I don’t know if it’s trendy but I’m just into dark pieces)and chunky knitwear (that I’ll probably knit myself ;) ).

What are your favorite bands of the moment?
I’m really into punk rock, New Found Glory is my favorite band (in the whole worldddd). Lately, I’ve also been listening to more pop/folk/indie bands, like the Icelandic band Of Monster and Men, Grouplove and this new hot band from the states, Youngblood Hawke.

What are your hotspots in your city?
To have a drink in Paris, my favorite spot is the terrace of the Printemps Haussman (a department store), with a 360° view on the city.

A blog born in England that moved to Paris two years ago. On Youmakefashion.com, I share my outfits and DIYs.

How did you get started blogging?
It comes from a Facebook addiction. I was living in London and I wanted to share everything that was happening to me and everything that I was wearing. To stop saturating my account, I looked into something else. I started a blog without really realizing and became addicted.

What’s the best thing about your blogging life?
Two things. People, I’ve meet some real friends amongst the bloggers. And collaborations with brands, like this one for UO.
