SPRING BREAK: STAYING HOME VS HITTING THE ROAD

February 9, 2016

Whether you’re going to be busy doing nothing or hitting the road for a few days, we’ve got some top tips on how to make the most of your spring break. From reclaiming your creative space and taking the time to recharge, to your must-have road trip essentials.

Recharge and Recover

Shop: Record Players

Burnout prevention is essential when you’re studying all year round. Give your mind a rest and spend your week relaxing indoors with your favourite records and a stack of good books. After some down time to recharge, you’ll feel ready to boss that essay you’ve been meaning to get round to…

Your Spring Break Uniform

Shop: Lingerie and Jumpers

There’s nothing better than spending a week lounging around the house, cuddled up in oversized jumpers. From the bedroom, to the living room, to the kitchen and back again, this is your uniform for a solid week. Period.

Create an Indoor Garden

Shop: Terrariums

Add a splash of green to a crisp, minimal space to make your room feel bright and breathable. Succulents and cacti are the perfect desk companions; not only do they look good, but they won’t die from neglect. Now you can head away on that long summer break without feeling guilty or coercing a friend into daily plant watering.

Clear Desk, Clear Mind

Shop: Notebooks and Desk Accessories

You have a long, luxurious week ahead of you. Clear the clutter and get inspired by your workspace. Adding splashes of colour and personality to your desk area helps cultivate creative thinking. Think about adding some fresh flowers or succulents, a collection of photos and some notebooks to start scribbling down your best ideas.

Road Tripping

Shop: Striped Ringer T-shirt and Vintage Tan Backpack

If you’ve hit the road for a few days away, you’ll need a backpack for your day-to-day essentials. Keep your packing minimal: make-up, wallet, headphones, camera and a hairbrush. Pair with a cute Breton stripe top for all the road trip vibes.

Denim Everything

Shop: Vintage 90s Levis Denim Jacket

The oversized denim jacket is a great travel staple. Throw it on in the daytime over a cute dress or match with an A-Line skirt, and double up in the evening for dinner and drinks. It’s a great way to keep warm and mix up your look.

Capture the moment

Shop: Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera and Fujifilm Instax Film

Having a digital camera on a weekend break away is handy, but these Fujifilm Instant Polaroid cameras are great for capturing a moment in a fun and original way. They’re easy to sling in your bag and pull out to snap something in the moment. Plus, when you get back from your trip you can use your holiday photos to create an ultra cute bedroom display.

Strong in Stripes

Shop: adidas Originals White and Black Superstar Trainers

You have to face up to the fact you won’t be able to cram five pairs of shoes in your carry-on. Instead, opt for some Adidas Originals to take you from exploring the streets in the day to the bar at night. A crisp, clean pair of adidas Superstars adds a little something special to any outfit.
