LONDON: FIRST STOP – UO SPITALFIELDSOctober 6, 2012
Poor Shireeka! The very first person to be subjected to interrogation style of The ‘Urban on Tour’ Tour travelling team. She’d just turned up for her 4pm shift as we arrived at UO Spitalfields and we pounced straight away.
We asked her to tell us about her style and her favourite ,now not-so-secret spot just around the corner from the store. As we wind our way through Europe in search of stories we will be coming to Antwerp, Nerumberg, Berlin, Copenhagen and Stockholm so come and say hi and show us somewhere around the corner from you!
Shireeka took us for a cup of tea at The Vintage Emporium just off Brick Lane on Bacon St, complete with a large dog called Georgina who we wanted to steal. It was a lovely little cafe owned by the even more lovely Olly and it could have the best banana cake in East London (seriously).
In between cakes Shireeka talked about living in Hackney, tie dying her own trousers, and her plans for the future, though we’d highly recommend you check out her current work here). So thanks, Shireeka, for sharing a quick half hour with us. We love you a little bit.
