IN CONVERSATION WITH: EMILY BADORAugust 8, 2016
We’re officially crushing on new face, Emily Bador. The half English, half Malaysian model has charmed our socks off with her freckled complexion and easy smile. We hung out with Emily on our August shoot to chat favourite Brighton hangouts, her obsession with dogs and long walks in the countryside to unwind.
UO: Hi Emily! Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m 19, a model and I love dogs and pie (one time I created my friend Milly a three course pie dinner to help cure her broken heart.)
UO: You’re from our favourite seaside town, Brighton. Tips for spending a weekend there?
I’d say, apart from the compulsory trip to the beach: get an ice cream from Boho Gelato or Morroccos, have a few drinks at the White Rabbit and Twisted Lemon, grab some food at Pompokos or La Choza, take a walk up at Devils Dyke or at Rottingdean beach, and dance ya arse off at an 80s night at The Haunt.
UO: What are a few things you’re passionate about?
Well obviously dogs. I am also interested in politics and feel very strongly about racism, feminism, and the class divide which is growing fast in our society.
UO: What’s a regular day-in-the-life for you?
Wake up. Shower. Make up. Get the train to London, grab breakfast and a coffee on the way. Go to a few castings. Get the train home. Get home an hour later than expected. Complain about southern rail a lot. Make dinner. Maybe go to the pub if I’m not busy the next day. In bed by 11 if not.
UO: How do you like to relax?
Going for walks in the countryside with my pup!
UO: How would you describe your personal style?
Whatever’s clean mainly. A mishmash of when I went through sporty, grungy phases I guess?
UO: Most-worn item of clothing in your wardrobe?
My leather jackets.
UO: Must-have wardrobe staple?
UO: Words to live by?
“Can I pet your dog?”
UO: What else are you looking forward to in 2016?
The end of it.
