UO X RISE: THE PACKING GUIDE

December 1, 2016

Festival packing. Whether it’s a British summertime festival or a ski festival, no other word evokes quite as much panic. It will be cold, but how cold is cold when you’re legging it up and down the slopes? Will there be a jacuzzi? Is packing a bikini too much? Don’t sweat it. So that you don’t end up in a frenzy with a half-packed suitcase, we’ve pulled together all your packing essentials.

The Plane

- Music & headphones (in case you get stuck next to a talker)
- Scarf (preventative measure against aggressive plane air con)
- Book
- Water

Clothing

So you need to cover all bases without packing your entire wardrobe. Layering is essential. When you step out to -2 degree cold in the morning, you’ll be thankful for your thermals and 6 layers you have piled on under your coat. But come lunchtime when the sun is out and you’ve worked up a sweat, you can whip off a few layers and you’re totally weather appropriate again.

- Thermal layers including leggings and long-sleeve top
- Tracksuit pants or ski leggings
- Long sleeve T-shirts (did we stress layering enough?)
- cosy knit jumpers
- Hat
- Scarf
- Gloves
- Puffer jacket
- Snow boots or hiking shoes
- Sunglasses
- Kanken backpack

Tech

- Polaroid camera + film
- Disposable camera
- Battery powered charger
