UO HOME: SUMMER MOMENTS WITH @ISABELLATHJuly 13, 2017
One thing that is super important for me when it comes to decorating our home is that it’s warm, cosy and welcoming. We have a really social home where people love to come and visit whenever they want. We often invite family and friends over for dinner and refreshing cocktails, and we love it! Our passion for vintage plays a big role in our home aesthetic, because it makes it unique and it brings some history to our home and then we always have some fun stories to tell about where we have found them, who we bought it from etc.
I like to mix vintage with new items, and we always have lots of plants! UO is my go-to place for interior and home pieces – and vinyls to play in the background
My favourite area in our home is the living room! There is always lots of beautiful natural light and I can sit and blog and at the same time our dog Pumpkin can be playing and running round, and my man can lay and read a good book on the sofa. On the walls we’ve framed our favourite vintage posters that we have collected from Poland, and our long wooden trestle table is the heart of all of our dinner parties.
The best thing I know is to wake up with my partner and Pumpkin on a day off. We go for a long walk and when we get home I jump into some cosy loungewea or a pair of vintage Levi’s jeans and a basic t-shirt or jumper. We love to cook together and play good music. Then we either have friends over, read books, bake or collapse on the sofa with a good documentary or movie.
I just finished the book I was reading so my friend’s recommended a Danish book called “Hollywood Stars Live On The Road”. It is a story about health and sickness, love and friendship, growing up, insecurities and triumph. I’m super excited to start reading it!
I love catching up on my work with a good cup of tea, background music and comfy clothes on. Hanging out with Pumpkin and meeting my friends for coffee is the perfect way to de-stress!
The best way to style your home for summer is with fresh flowers and a good mix of new and vintage. Remember to make it feel warm and welcoming with pillows, candles, and blankets. I love when a home feels like it’s “hugging” you when you step through the door. Mix the colours you like and remember, styling your home should be fun! Go vintage hunting and try out a ladder as a bedside table – there should be no rules.
When it’s summer I like to add in brighter colours. In my home at the moment I have lots of sunflowers and flowers I collect from the sidewalk while I’m walking Pumpkin. Hot cups of coffee are swapped for homemade lemonade, I read more cookbooks and always have the windows wide open – the windowsill is my summer hanging out spot.
