GREGORIE AND NICOLAS

BEHIND THE SCENES: ADIDAS IN PARIS

Introduce yourself

I’m Gregorie, and this is Nicolas. We’re twins, living in Paris. We’re 18 years old and we’re models.

What superpower would you want?

Nicolas: If I had a super power, I would want to be able to fly.

Gregorie: And if I did, I would love to be able to teleport. I honestly love travelling and would love to visit different countries Indonesia, the US, etc.

Nicolas: To be fair, I feel the same here: he would teleport and I would fly – we could both travel as we please!

What’s most important to you?

Gregorie: The most important thing for me right now is my family.

Nicolas: Yes, same. Also passing my A levels.

What is freedom to you?

Gregorie: When I think about freedom, I think about freedom of speech, about the freedom of being who you are and who you want to be.

Nicolas: When I think about freedom I instantly think of being able to do what you want to do and be yourself.

KENDALL AND KLY

Introduce yourself!

Kendall Mudler: My name is Kendall Mudler, I’m 22 and I’m a Parisian vogueur.

Kly: My name is Kly XX and I’m a vogueur too. I’m part of a collective called House of Ninja.

Have you got any secrets?

Kendall: I don’t really have a secret like that. By definition, a secret is something personal that regardless of its nature you don’t want to share..

Kly: A secret? I’m still in love with my ex. But don’t tell anyone!

How did you get into voguing?

Kly: I started voguing quite late, when I was 21. I started out in a dance school and I started hanging out with the ‘ball room’ scene at 21, which initiated me to “vogue fem”. Later on I switched onto “Sex Iron” which is a different category – more liberated and freeing. One piece of advice: you can’t be shy!

Kendall: I started voguing in 2010 for House of Ninja. I basically taught myself and I’ve been doing it for 7 years now! I was nominated for international vogueur of the year and I won, so I’m really proud of my journey. I try to spread the voguing culture as I go

Why do you love it?

Kly: Voguing for me is like a big community. I feel like everyone is like family, and you just fall in love with everyone here. I love it.

Kendall: For me, voguing was a way for me to express myself through different movements. It’s a dance that requires and allows a lot of femininity and it’s really empowering as a dancer to be able to express yourself in different styles. It made me a lot more confident and I’m really thankful for all of this!

What is freedom to you?

Kly: Freedom is fraternity. Honestly it’s something I feel on a daily basis in the “ball room” scene – I feel like we’re there for each other, and it’s a world where we can really be ourselves. When I think of freedom, I think of the “ball room” scene and I think of voguing.

LEA VLAMOS

BEHIND THE SCENES: ADIDAS IN PARIS

Introduce yourself!

I’m Lea Ninja and I live in Paris.

Have you got any secrets?

No! I can’t say…

How did you get into voguing?

I started voguing in 2013, so I started taking classes with Archie and Dashaun back in New York. Then when I came back to Paris I met Lasseindra Ninja and I started training with her and then I entered the House!

Why do you love it?

It’s a really powerful expression of your femininity and sensuality. To be proud of being feminine and it’s a really strong message, especially nowadays.

What superpower would you like to have?

If I had a superpower it would being able to fly! It represents freedom.

What’s most important to you?

The most important things to me right now are health and family.

CHISE

Introduce yourself!

I’m Chise and I’m from Japan.

Have you got any secrets?

Secrets?!

How did you get into voguing?

I started in 2012 and I used to do waacking. I watched YouTube and saw the House of Ninja clip and thought ‘what is this?’ and I just knew it was voguing. So I switched from waacking to voguing and then I went to New York 3 times and learnt from Javier Ninja and I started voguing!
