IT’S PRESS DAY!November 29, 2012
Ooooshh. Our spring/summer collection is on its way! We went down to our Urban Outfitters press day in London, battled through the press n’ bloggers, and snapped away at our brand new fashion wear all ready for next year. Here we go fashionistas…
For the girls
Expect vibrant colour with subtle fade. Retro vibes and a delicate approach to neon. Its all wonderful, basically.
The season ahead is handily divided into three awesome trend stories. Soixante Neuf is so very late 60s, early 70s France. Exclusive brands like Cooperative, Kimchi Blue and Pins and Needles, collectively conjure a vibe both clean and retro in a palette of bright blues, golden yellows and ultra marine, thrown together with crochet, paisley print blouses and pinafore-style dresses.
Patagonia is all about earthy embellishment, prints, embroidery and paneling, creating a summer look for the bohemian and grungy. Clashing prints and elements of patchwork abound across a range of oversized babydoll dresses, jumpsuits and directional jersey. Think Moroccan with a twist from Ecote, Sparkle and Fade and Silence and Noise.
Route 66 is for the road trip mind within. Imagine yourself speeding down the american highways, young and lost, dressed to never impress with not a care in world. Denim, boyfriend tees and casual shirting all feature in this mini collection. Inspired by life’s great American adventures…
We can look forward to new boutique brands House of Hackney, Maison Scotch, April May and Denim & Supply heavily representing next year’s must-have UO style. Ultra cool womenswear from (wait for it!) Obey and Masion Kitsune have got us all hot under the collar. It’s happening – it’s really happening!
No look is complete without accessories! Stela 9 multi coloured hand crafted hand bags and sunglasses from Wildfox to accompany bold swimwear from Beachriot! Cuffs and statement necklaces remain right on trend with John and Pearl, House of Harlow and Fiona Paxton; perfect additions to SS13′s loud and proud aesthetic.
For the Men
SS13 for men is simply four words… Denim and street style. Expect texture, smart wear and colourful print with a tropical, floral edge. Camo is set to still trend across a range of clothes and accessories; SS13 for is a dynamic and vibrant place to be!
Edwin, Libertine Libertine and Lacoste set the trend with exclusive UO denim ranges, bomber jackets and coloured chinos – the smarter edge on UO’s menswear collection. Rascal and Vanishing Elephant represent the top half of your body with a dedicated collection of graphic tees and prints. Anerkjendt and APC keep style heritage in summer chinos and chambray styles.
For the feet UO welcome Scandi brand Gram along with TMC, Adidas and Nike. A step away from the original mold these brands represent, experimenting with variations on loafers and printed trainers, be excited for Hawaiian prints and casual brogues.
Then there are rucksacks, snap backs, sunglasses and swimwear from Obey, Penfield, Herschel, East Pack and Franks. Expect nothing less than an pioneering extension on what these brands have done before.
Shore Leave’s menswear collection Mawi to Tokyo sets the trend in a crazy collection of tropical nature print. Faded Knits and deep navy or cobalt blue palettes feature wide across shorts and chambray shirts.
Worland’s A walk on the Wild side remains strong on paisley prints and tie-dye or dip-dye tees, stir in influences of tribal prints and new pocket patterns, and discover a collection that’s a wonderful clash of pattern and colour. Indigo and Main supplies the rough side of trouser wear with a washed and beaten approach to denim.
Its not all about the clothes!
Last but in no way least, we’re mega proud to introduce our brand new furniture range! Exciting right? It’s touching down exclusively online this coming January and we’re already particularly loving this sofa and coffee table combo…
What’s more, Emma from Boom nails is showing face at our press day! She’s there right now getting mad tekkers on finger decorations… Check out her skills HERE
