We’ve been oh-so arty this week on the blog, checking out the likes of Affordable Art Fair and psychedelic artist Jen Stark. To round off our creative binge we take a look at multi-talented illustrator Aya Kekeda, she may well be from another planet…

ARTY CRAFTY AYA KAKEDA

Born in Tokyo and now living in New York, (Perhaps she’s friends with Maria Minerva?), Aya lists her interests as “cats, seals , receiving postcards and eating ice cream on a street corner”. These simple things in life are quite a contrast to her artistic style, which in her own words appears to be “cute and scary”.

Taking inspiration from her wild imagination, Aya experiments with ink, silk screening and embroidery to transform her mind into interesting illustrations. We fully support any out of the norm activity on the UO blog, so here’s some of her beautiful work…
