GET ON UP TO PICK ME UPApril 19, 2013
The UK’s original contemporary graphic arts festival is back at London’s Somerset House for an 11-day celebration of graphic art, design and illustration. In addition to showcasing original artworks and limited-edition prints from the industry’s elite and emerging talent, each day the festival is running an exciting and eclectic mix of quirky family workshops, lively evening events, and creative forums. Some of the artists contributing to this year’s programme include Guardian regulars Modern Toss and the award-winning animation studio Aardman, who are hosting a Shaun the Sheep model-making workshop. Sweeeet.
Guess what?!…No…Guess…Ah ok! We have 4 pairs of day tickets to give away!
Each winner is entitled to enter Pick Me Up for no cost on one day only between 18-28 April and attend with one guest, the date of entry must be agreed in advance. Entry is subject to capacity and therefore at busy times there may be a queuing system in place.
Here’s how to win.
Follow us on Instagram (uoeurope) and send us a pic of you picking/lifting up a friend @uoeurope with #UOPICKMEUP. It’s that damn simple. Something like this but far less dramatic (don’t drop anyone, we’re not responsible for broken bones, bruises or failed friendships).
What’s more. One of our four lucky winners can bag themselves this Jean Jullien print…
The French illustrator Jean Jullien is best known for creating cheerful characters that he cuts out of paper and captures in photographs. His simple, appealing scenes got a big break on the website Manystuff in 2008 while he was still in art school, and since then his work has appeared in The Guardian and The New York Times, and on a host of design blogs.
Now go pick up something funny and win yourself some tickets!
With so many arts and crafts going on, we snapped up the invitation to grab a first look at the event with a few of our Urban Graphic Designers! Complimentary drinks in hand (and chirpsing on some mystery meat hors d’oeuvres) this is what we saw…
The UO Graphic Team were totally in their element, loving the work of Hattie Stewart, Kraggy, Christopher Wright, Anna Lomax, Rob Flowers and Sarah Vanbelle to name a few among very many!
